For furniture makers

Set up for furniture, down to the field

The furniture template knows the difference between a dry fit and a glue-up, between oil and hardwax oil. Start from it, then make it yours.

Stages

Twelve stages, from brief to handover

Each stage suggests what to photograph. Dry fit and hardware are hidden from clients by default. Rename, reorder or add your own.

Materials

Records your clients can trust

The passport only shows what you mark as public, and every claim says where it came from.

Solid timber

Species and botanical name, country and region of harvest, source (sawmill, merchant, reclaimed, felled yourself), batch or stack number, drying method, moisture at use, certification with its licence code, CITES status.

Sheet material

Type, core and face species, thickness, grade, formaldehyde emission class, certification.

Finish

Oil, hardwax oil, waterborne or solvent lacquer, shellac, soap, wax, paint or unfinished. Product, manufacturer, sheen, coats, cure time, food contact with the data sheet.

Hardware

Hinges, runners, handles, fittings: manufacturer, model, material and finish, spare part reference.

Upholstery

Fabric, composition, abrasion and fire standards, filling, customer’s own material.

Care cards

Care written for the finish you used

Choose the finish and whether the piece lives indoors or outside, and the care card assembles itself: everyday care, the finish-specific steps, oily-rag fire safety where it applies. Every line is editable, and nothing makes environmental claims on your behalf.

Questions

Does it help with quotes and cutting lists?+

Not yet. Quotes, agreements and deposits are next on the roadmap. Cutting lists and stock control are out of scope; there are good tools for those already.

Can I record where my timber came from without documents?+

Yes. Every material claim is labelled with its source: your own declaration, a supplier document or a third-party certificate. Certification claims such as FSC or PEFC need the certificate attached and are shown as text with the licence code, never as a logo.

I do fitted kitchens and built-ins. Does it fit?+

Mostly. The furniture template includes a category for built-in work and the stages can be renamed. Staged payments for fitted work will come with the deposits feature.

Can I work in inches?+

Yes. Each workshop chooses metric or imperial. Passports show your system first and the other in brackets, for example 180 cm (70 7/8").
